3K & 4K Program for 2012-2013

SPS is happy to announce that we will expand our Prekindergarten program for the 2012-2013 school to include both 3 year olds and 4 year olds. Students need to be 3 years old and 4 years old respectively by September 1, 2012, and be totally toilet trained. Tuition for both ages will be the same amount as previously stated for 4K – Grade 8. After much research, we have the resources, the curriculum, the room, and the teacher, Ms. Gomez, who excels at differentiating the curriculum to meet not only the needs and curriculum requirements of the specific age but also those of the individual child. If you would like to register your child for either 3K or 4K for next year or know of anyone who has a child of this age, please contact the school. NOTE: SPS preschool is usually less expensive or comparable to day care, is an accredited school program, and extended day care is available until 6:00 PM. REMEMBER, if you recommend a new family to attend SPS and they list you on the application and pay tuition for the year, YOU will receive a check for $500 in June or July 2013!

TECHNOLOGY ITEMS NEEDED
SPS will be re-cabling all computers in the school this summer and re-assigning our new computers to the lab and classrooms. In order to fully accomplish this task, we need the following: CAT 6 or Cat5E computer cable (we'll need about 10 boxes to totally re-cable the entire school) and Four or more 80 GB or larger hard drives. If you or your business can donate any of these items, you'll receive a tax donation letter and service hours for next year. If you can help re-string cable, let us know. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Jennifer Hill or the school office.

RENOVATION UPDATES
Renovation is moving along according to schedule. The construction crew has finished the windows, HVAC, wall repair, roof, and painting in the gym and is currently working on the roof of the main school building. They plan to begin window replacement for the classrooms, offices, and other rooms in the main building next week, and this will take several weeks. Classes will be moved to the library and other rooms as needed. The older students, under the direction of Mrs. Hill, have inventoried all the computers, both those currently in use and those donated by Baylor Health, and listed their processor speed, hard drive size, memory size, etc. so that we will have a better idea of computer placement for next year. We plan to have about 30 computers in the lab, four in the Lower School classrooms and library, and at least one in each Upper School room, and we will replace teacher computers with computers that have more memory and hard drive space. We'll need to rework cabling, electrical, Internet drops, software pushout, etc. before actual set-up of the computers. Work on the computer lab, bathrooms, window replacement, electrical, HVAC, flooring, and finishing of the gym will occur after school is out. It's an exciting time at SPS!
